4 Seasons Outdoor Services has an open position for an Outside Sales Representative. The OSR is expected to do whatever it may take to help the company achieve overall growth in sales, profitability and our client base. We seek a goal-oriented individual that is motivated by growth and one that can overcome any obstacle that may slow him/her down in the process of achieving their or the company’s goals.

As an Outside Sales Representative with 4 Seasons Outdoor Services, your primary focus will be increasing the company’s overall sales volume by developing and maintaining relationships with residential and commercial clients. In any downtime, you will be expected to attend networking events, knock on doors, make cold calls, pass out doorhangers, set yard signs, or anything else that may pertain to promoting the company and bringing in new clientele. A great candidate for this role will also be open to suggesting new or improved marketing strategies within the company.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Attend in person consultations with prospective clients. Discuss the clients’ vision, goals, and budget. Take measurements and photos of the prospective project area.
  • Within 48 hours, have your project proposal, along with a 3D design (when applicable) submitted to the prospective client.
  • Follow up with past submitted proposals to attempt to close any outstanding potential jobs.
  • Coordinate closely with the Operations Manager, once a job is closed to get the client scheduled. Review job tasks with the Operations Manager to ensure he is clear on the job tasks.
  • Keep pending clients updated with where they fall on our schedule.
  • Maintain communication with all of our clients throughout the sales and job completion process to ensure they are always up to date and always happy.
  • Attend sales and networking events to pass out business cards and meet new people.

Weekly Responsibilities

  • Complete and submit an end of week sales report.
  • Complete a bi-weekly Leadership/Sales call.
  • Follow up with past/potential clients to try an obtain further work.
  • Coordinate with the Operations Manager on invoicing completed jobs for the week.

Other Responsibilities

  • In downtime, pass out doorhangers, set out yard signs, door knock, etc.
  • Work with the marketing team to stay up to date with the current trends and help discuss/suggest marketing plans/strategies.
  • Coordinate with Holly to send high paying customers a gift box with company swag, mail out thank you and holiday cards to clients.
  • As needed, help where needed in the field. Landscaping labor, fertilization, filing in for people on vacation or out sick, etc.

Qualifications and Skills
The ideal candidate for this role is self-motivated, goal oriented, and doesn’t take “no” for an answer. Ideally you have some knowledge in the lawn care / landscaping industry and are willing to attend sales training events. Further requirements are listed below.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • Must be a legal U.S. Citizen
  • Must be drug free
  • Must have 2 years of prior sales experience

Pay / Bonuses
Outside Sales Representatives will be paid a base salary + commission for each job sold. (An OSR would have made over $87,000 + benefits based on 10% commission in 2022)

First Year Expected Pay

The first year with us, you are almost guaranteed to clear $100,000 with a small amount of effort.

Base Starting Salary: $27,040

Leads: Some leads will be provided, but you will also be responsible for lead generation.

Commission is based on a Job Conversion Rate/Commission Percentage Payout Rate
